Stettler Town and Country Museum

Just 80km east of Red Deer, we invite you to visit Stettler Town and Country Museum, the hidden jewel of Stettler, fifty years in the making. With eleven historic buildings and sixteen additional structures, we have something to satisfy all interests. From schoolhouses, to smithies, authentic storefronts, and reconstructed parlors, we aim to preserve the local heritage by showcasing what our ancestors deemed important enough to keep. From past to present, see how your hobbies and interests have evolved throughout the decades, gain anew an appreciation for modern appliances, and marvel how, despite remarkable change, some things stay comfortingly the same. With plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and large, green spaces to roam, the Stettler Museum makes a perfect addition to your summer itinerary. Scare yourself in our Halloween Haunted House, or delight in a half kilometer of Christmas lights shining against the crisp December night sky; we continue to hold events and entertain visitors even in our off-season, as well as accepting research requests, hosting cultural workshops, and providing educational opportunities. Bring your family, your friends, or just yourself, and enjoy the museum, with free dandelions to offer to resident tortoise, Sherman, while supplies last!
