Breton and District Historical Society

As you enter through the doors of the Breton Museum, you will travel back through history to Keystone, one of the four Black communities in Alberta settled in 1909.

Learn how the coming of the railway in 1926 transformed it into ‘Breton’, a major lumbering centre at “the end of the line”.

The Breton & District Historical Museum is the only museum in the province that has a major focus on the Black settlement history of Alberta.
