Congratulations Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal Recipients

The Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal (Alberta) was created to mark the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty’s Accession to the Throne of as Queen of Canada. The Medal program recognizes outstanding service from Albertans who, like The Queen, have dedicated themselves to family, community, and country. More information about the Medal can be found on the Department of Canadian Heritage website.
The overall purpose of the program was to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the province or a particular region or community. The Medal honours The Queen and her lifelong service to Canada, as well as those residents of Alberta who, like Her Majesty, have spent their lives to making this province a better place.
The Alberta Museums Association (AMA) partnered with the Government of Alberta to facilitate presentation of the Medal to recognize the exceptional work of Alberta museums and museum professionals in creating value, accessibility, and relevance in their communities. Through this partnership, the AMA was able to present ten medals to members of the Alberta museum sector who are leaders in their communities and have made significant impact at the local level. Of these ten, four are either current or past members of CARMN. They are:

- Irene Kerr, of High River
